Purple gallinule on lily pond, 20”D, is a garden sculpture I created for our garden. The bird is life-size. The various glazed elements were fired to vitrification separately prior to final assembly and fused with low fire. It now sits atop a repurposed industrial pipe that is part of a rain drainage system and doubles as a pedestal for the sculpture.
